Our Story – Slow down, you move too fast
Slow has been a constant theme in our lives. For many years Dave was employed as a technical specialist in the aerospace industry, developing braking systems so that aircraft could slow and stop safely on runways. While away from our day jobs supporting community projects in Zambia Liz and I rediscovered in Africa the benefits of a slower pace of life and especially enjoyed the opportunity to reflect more, be more creative, focus on the things that matter and discover greater depth in what was happening around us.
After finding our property on escape to the country we opened with three pods in 2019. We have added a pizza oven down the field with a firepit, boules court and skittle alley.
Exciting news for 2024 is our expansion of our site by adding Henrietta, a replica railway carriage. This is self contained in our separate sheep field sleeping up to 2 people so especially good for romantic breaks. This carriage is pet free as we have put a lovely carpet in the bedroom but don’t worry a dog friendly carriage will follow later in the year called Clarabel.
Following this we decided we would try to set up a holiday business where we could offer slow holidays. We moved from Kenilworth in March 2017 after finding our ideal location on BBC TV’s Escape to the Country.
We are in an internet cold spot so there is no Wi-Fi available but the phone signal is reasonable on most networks so maybe you could take the opportunity of an digital detox. The Glamping site has been developed with the ethos of slower, simpler and deeper in mind. So why not come and stay a while and rediscover your inner slow?
