Liz and I love the mystique and romance of steam trains. From the engineering roots of George Stephenson’s rocket, to its heyday where rail was central to movement of people and goods throughout the land. We love the nostalgic heritage of the flying Scotsman which we regularly see pass by Eden Brows on the iconic Carlisle Settle railway.
Henrietta is a replica railway carriage. The carriage is made from timber, faithfully reproducing many of the features of railway carriages. From the undercurve profile and arched roof and buffers to the hinged doors, windows, platform, signs, the empire green colour and even a working communication cord. The styling of the inside the carriage has been done with a nod to Art deco.
We are in an internet cold spot so there is no Wi-Fi available but the phone signal is reasonable on most networks so maybe you could take the opportunity of an digital detox. The Glamping site has been developed with the ethos of slower, simpler and deeper in mind. So why not come and stay a while and rediscover your inner slow?
